P. J. Galati
- Writer/Director/Editor/Producer -
A visually creative person with a hands-on mentality, P. J. Galati has a vivid imagination which shows in every aspect of his work. His venture into the film industry began with a feature length script which had been churning away in his creative process for several years and lived on a yellow legal pad as an outline for nearly a decade. Once the script became a finished rough draft, avenues were researched to sell the project only to find out that Hollywood wasn't interested unless you were already invited. Determined not to let the birth of this story die quickly and quietly, P. J. sought out a new path to make it happen. A few years later he graduated from the New York Film Academy's Directing Program and ventured into the independant film industry armed with passion and a list of goals to be met. He's managed to consistantly meet these benchmarks which have been replaced one by one with new goals and aspirations to keep moving forward in the industry. Adding to this success is his partnership with multi-media talent Angelique Monét and her production company, Greta Joanne Entertainment. Residing and operating out of Brooklyn NY, many of P.J.'s new films and scripts have elements adopted from the most famous city on the planet. A Science Fiction lover, the majority films and scripts created by P. J. have some extra ordinary aspect to them and they're always fun to watch. Attending the Cannes Film Festival 2010 with Business Partner Monét, P. J.'s sci-fi/action short film A Day for a Dark Sky had it's world premeire in the Cannes Short Film Corner. During the festival Monét debuted the world premiere of her feature film Deceptive, of which P. J. is the Editor and Co-Producer. In September 2010, A Day for a Dark Sky won Best Scinece Fiction Short Film at the Hamptons Black International Film Festival.
